Thank you for coming back to get your Mid-Week Motivation! (If this is your first time, Click HERE to learn a little more about it.)
This week's quote comes from the great Nelson Mandela:
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."
What a powerful quote from a man who has faced an uncommon amount of adversity. He has undoubtedly been in many situations in which he has felt fear. Great fear. Real fear. And yet rose above it and triumphed. Who better to learn from about courage than Mandela?!
My Takeaways:
Next time you feel fear think of Nelson Mandela's wise words. Recognize the fear. Admit to yourself that what you are feeling is indeed fear and see it as an opportunity to grow and triumph over it. After all, that is what true courage is all about!

My Takeaways:
- In order to be brave you must have Self-Awareness. Recognizing fear takes self-awareness, which is a big part of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
- Growth occurs outside of your comfort zone. Fear, by definition, makes us uncomfortable and that is a good thing! Embrace fear, don't run from it. Fear means that we are being pushed out of our comfort zone into our learning zone, where all of our growth occurs.
