"No one has the right to beat you."
So short, yet so powerful! If you're not sure whether I'm talking about Rousey or the quote, I'm talking about both! Ronda Rousey is a former Judo Olympic medalist turned UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion who still competes in the octagon but has also become a blockbuster actress and mainstream icon.
When I read Ronda's quote two things immediately come to mind, competitiveness and self-belief.
Competitiveness – What this quote means to me is that no matter who the opponent is, no matter what the circumstances are you MUST compete, because "no one has the right to beat you". There is no situation in which before the contest has even started that your opponent has the right to beat you.
Self-belief – Rousey's unbreakable confidence and self-belief are clearly evident in this quote and they shine through in how she handles herself and in everything that she says. Rousey truly believes that she is the best in the world and that no matter who she is facing they do not have the right to beat her.
The question that some of you may be asking is where does this incredible self-belief come from? The answer is hard work and preparation. Rousey is able to push herself mentally and physically to levels that very few athletes can. That is where herself self-belief comes from.
Plant the seeds of preparation and hard work, and like they did for Ronda Rousey, they will blossom into an undying and unbeatable self-belief that will push you through the toughest of times, in the face of the toughest opponents.
